Reverie

It was silence
That moved me
As night begged
For me to wake
From a reverie
Of you and I
Entwined
Before the dawn
Of consciousness

Embracing sleep,
I danced alone
At water's edge
The echo of,
"Do it, love"
Remained,
Lingered a while longer.
"You cannot wait
For never."
I cannot stay
Forever

All my dreams,
They laid to rest
When you became
A thrill
I never really knew
If only I knew that then

So still,
So silent I lie
Alone
